THE STABILITY PROJECT

In the final illustration of the greatest sermon ever preached, Jesus told us that the storms of life would come. That’s a given. The question is, do these storms find us safe and secure and living on the rock? Or do they find us struggling to survive on the sand? And how do we help those who have already built on the sand to find the rock?
We do this by providing an environment in which the homeless can grow relationally by experiencing the love of God. This is the work Inner City Mission has been carrying on successfully for the past twenty-five years.
The purpose of the Stability Project is to mobilize and involve the Body of Christ to reach greater numbers of our community’s homeless with this loving approach to restoration.
We must always remember that the stability and viability of any society rests in the number of productive relationships found within its borders. Homelessness is an indication of broken, destructive, or missing relationships. If nothing is done to restore these relationships, the problem will escalate, and society will ultimately break down. Please take some time to read through this presentation of the Stability Project and prayerfully consider supporting our efforts to help the homeless, thereby taking a role in healing our community and our nation.
The Stability Project is presented in three booklets available from the Inner City Mission business office (booklet three pending), or click on one of the icons below to read the full text.
