ICM's Rehabilitation Program
Minimize

ICM stands witness to the brokenness of abuse, molestation, abandonment, rebellion, addiction, and trauma. Damage to the individual caused by these and other factors may not be visible on the human body, but the toll to the human psyche is enormous.

Only a godly understanding of one’s self and others, allowing for the gradual development of healthy relationships, can overcome this. It was for that purpose that our seven stage rehabilitation program, Shattered 2 Shalom (S2S), was developed.

ICM creates a safe environment in which the homeless can relax, live without fear, and build trust in others as they learn to understand and accept themselves and those around them in a positive, productive manner. When homeless children and adults discover who they are in relationship to God and others, they are able to move from the shattered state of poverty to that of joy and peace.

S2S takes the homeless person through seven stages of growth, focusing on spiritual life; self-concept; financial; employment/education; relationships; addictions; and physical and mental health. This approach encourages them to grow, overcoming not just the circumstance of homelessness, but the behaviors and attitudes that led to homelessness in the first place. Shattered to Shalom is not a rushed process. On average, the program takes about two years.  The graph below shows how each stage is broken down into clearly defined, easily navigated steps.  Listen to a Resident's S2S Pilgrimage.
