I began mentoring Zaneta and Emily about a year and a half ago. We love laughing together and catching up on new happenings, good or bad, in our lives. Each week, we have fun going out for dinner, swimming at the pool, taking a walk at the park, or adding to our mentoring scrapbooks!

Mentoring through the Inner City Mission has been such an amazing and rewarding opportunity in my life. Really making a bond with these two middle school teens has been great, not only for them, but also for me! I would encourage anyone with a couple hours a week free to make finding a child at the Inner City Mission to mentor a priority. I have always used the 1 Timothy Bible verse as a call to action in my own life. Through mentoring, I hope to instill in the girls that even though they are young, they can set a Christian example for the friends and classmates around them every day.
