It's almost November and Christmas is just around the corner. Christmas is a time of love and giving. This is when we remember the greatest gift of love that was every given...God giving His Son, JESUS.
There are many different ways in which one can celebrate this time of year. Many people spend time at Christmas with their families and lavishing each other with gifts. But, what about those families and individuals who are homeless or less fortunate? What about those who for some reason or another do not have a family of their own, due to death or abandonment or other reasons? Or, what about the individual who has a family, but that family is very abusive, addicted or who steals from them?
These are some of the examples of those to whom ICM ministers. ICM is a family to those who don't have a family and to those who are estranged from their families. As we approach this Christmas season, we would like to provide a Christmas full of gifts and blessings to our residents and former residents.
If you are looking for something to do this Christmas, we would love to have you help us provide Christmas to those who otherwise might not have a Christmas at all.
In our Christmas Give-a-way Program you can adopt a homeless family or individual. This program allows you to provide Christmas gifts to a needy family through ICM. If you would like to participate in this program, please contact Candace Maynard at 217-220-0505. Beginning November 1st, Candace will be providing names, ages, sizes, Christmas lists, etc. All gifts need to be to the mission by no later than December 18th so that we will have time to organize them and distribute them by Christmas Eve.
This an amazing opportunity to share a little bit of joy and love this Christmas season. May you all have a blessed and joy-filled Christmas!
